Courses offered in the Faculty of Arts
- This is a third year course for students of English. It deals with the theory of grammar and its application to linguistic expressions. It explains the native speaker/hearer's competence and performance in an idealized environment as enunciated by Noam Chomsky. Candidates are expected to have grounding in it to be able to perform linguistic tasks: being able to determine whether or not an expression is well-formed or illformed and supporting the decisions with linguistic reasons.
