This course deals with the role of communication in the development process; it focuses on how to promote development through communication. Attention is given to the use of the mass media, interpersonal communication networks and strategies to combat development issues. Attention is given to language, culture and related issues as they affect development. Development issues include health (including HIV and AIDS), environmental degradation, hunger and poverty, agriculture and extension, war and peace.
