Dear Students,
Once again, I welcome you to the Department of Crop Protection and Environmental Biology, also known as C-Progress Department. It is a foremost and a frontline Department in Crop Protection and Environmental Biology studies. In the Environmental Biology Unit, we focus on improving plants and the environmental context within which they live. The CPE 110 is a beginner level course that will expose you to a proper and holistic understanding of the environment and ecology of crops and plants in Nigeria, and in relation to other areas. you will learn about various concepts in plant ecology, crop physiology, eco-toxicology, plant genetics and vertebrate pest ecology. The course will also equip you with theoretical and operational knowledge of some tools and equipment that are used the various programmed in the Environmental Biology Unit. You will find out that you are in the best Department, a Department that will prepare you to be able to work in any area of agriculture, renewable natural resources, corporate organisations in the business of the environment and environmental resources, and in any of the many national and international research institutes (in Nigeria and beyond).
The Course will be taught by seasoned members of the academia. The online engagements will be facilitated by Dr Dada and I, while the physical componnt will be taught by us alongside other lecturers in the various areas of specialization, as indicated in the Teaching Schedule.
